In February 2012 Terrie Howey, better known as storyteller Red Phoenix, founder and artistic director of Red Phoenix of Storytelling & Productions, was awarded the Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship to fund a project to visit American and Canadian Youth Storytelling Programmes. The aim of this project is to learn more about their methods for supporting, mentoring and funding, as well as building international links for young storytellers. The information gathered during this trip will help storytellers in the UK improve youth storytelling practices and support for such enterprises throughout the country, as well as developing the work we do at Red Phoenix Storytelling & Productions.
